Grade 11
Following my involvement in the Altium meeting, I had the privilege of serving as the translator for a strategic check-in meeting between Supplyframe and Interbird. Supplyframe, a key buyer for Interbird, was participating in this meeting to provide updates on developments between the two companies.
Despite initial nerves, as it had been some time since I last translated, I prepared thoroughly. I engaged directly with the Interbird CEO to review the meeting agenda and conducted in-depth research on Supplyframe’s business. I also noted the history of the two companies’ relationship. To further my knowledge, I also gathered details on recent interactions between the two companies to ensure precise translations.
The meeting concluded successfully, with both companies sharing updates from the previous four years. Every time I work alongside company leaders, I gain valuable insights – this time, it was about communication. As the sole person bridging the language gap between Korean and English, I saw firsthand how non-verbal cues and small gestures amounted to its own langauge. Their ability to maintain rapport despite the language barrier highlighted the significance of building strong relationships in business. This experience deepened my appreciation for how effective communication goes beyond language and how it can help foster successful partnerships.
